Sadie's Trip to Idaho

A few months ago we took a trip to Idaho for Shayla's family reunion and we brought Sadie along.  This was her first long trip with us ever!  She did amazingly well and had a great time with cousins and new friends.  Here are some pictures to enjoy.

Shayla the Horse Wisperer

Yesterday Shayla rode Honey at Healing Winds/Crosswinds Stables.  This was the first time that she has been on Honey where she obeyed Shayla's commands.  Yeah!  Last week we decided to take Honey to Healing Winds to be boarded and trained for a month.  They wanted to work with Honey to make sure she would be a great horse for Shayla and that she knew everything to make things work smoothly and safely.  After the first training session the trainer called me to tell me that Honey is an awesome horse and that she knows her stuff but that she is a bit rusty and needs to work on some minor things.  She has great expectations for Honey and says that she thinks she will catch on (remember) quickly.  Shayla is in heaven with Honey and now that she is really getting to be able to ride her own horse.  Shayla is also going out to Healing Winds just about every day now to work with Honey and help with other horses and the chores too.  I am so glad that Shayla is finding something that she loves so much and that she has the drive to volunteer and help out.  It is so awesome to see.  Now I just have to get working with my horse so we can go hit the trail together.
